Let’s face it success would be much easier to measure if everyone started at the same skill level. Since it’s obvious that we’re all at different levels of the marketing spectrum, it’s important that we learn how to properly measure our success. When we set unrealistic goals for ourselves we tend to become frustrated and if left unchecked frustration can lead to failure. It’s a good idea to set realistic goals that will lead you to success over a realistic time period. When discouragement does comes, just measure your success according to your skill level and what you have learned that day or week depending on your schedule. Below are 4 ways to measure your success!

1. What have you learned this week – Make a list of the skills that are needed to become a successful online affiliate marketer. Make sure you include everything from web design, pay per click advertising, copy writing, article marketing, blogging, and so on. Once you have a list make a note of your strengths, and weaknesses, then begin to focus on what you need to learn. You can learn new skills by reading an e-book on a particular subject, or participating in live workshops.

2. Putting you’re new skills into action – One of the best ways to fight discouragement is by utilizing your new skills as soon as possible before procrastination sets in. Learning and doing are two different things so put your new skills into action Fast! If you just learned how to create a blog on a specific niche topic then start creating that blog! Plan your next blog right away while continuing down your list of learning new skills!

3. Building new relationships – Building relationships is the life blood of any business and you can measure your success by the relationships that you’re building. Today with the invention of VoIP Conference rooms it’s easy to meet people either in a learning or social environment. Many companies are offering live workshops on specific topics, plus with Social Networking sites popping up all over its easy to find friends with the same interests. Make friends and get involved in workshops!

4. How many new subscribers have you added to your list this week – It’s no longer a secret that list building is a major part of online success. The best way to build a targeted list is to build it around your niche market. You can build a list by offering resources, or information such as e-courses about your niche for a name and email address. Each new subscriber is a tribute to your hard work and success.
